Our Vision

"Empowering Tomorrow's Educators for a Resilient and Inclusive Future."

Mission Statement

"At Huddersfield Horizon SCITT, we aim to cultivate resilient, inclusive, and reflective educators who inspire curiosity, embrace innovation, and commit to fostering equity in education. Our trainee teachers will lead with compassion, teach with excellence, and continue learning as they shape the future of our communities and society."

Accredited by the Department for Education (DfE)

Huddersfield Horizon SCITT is an accrediting body for Initial Teacher Training (ITT), meaning we are officially recognised by the Department for Education (DfE) to deliver high-quality teacher training programmes. This accreditation ensures that our courses meet the rigorous standards set by the government, offering you the best possible training experience. As an accredited provider, we have the authority to award Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to successful trainees, giving you the credentials to teach in schools across the UK. This recognition reflects our commitment to excellence and the quality of the training we provide.

Leading a New Partnership with Key Delivery Partners

Huddersfield Horizon SCITT is proud to lead a new partnership with two Lead Delivery Partners—Kirklees and Calderdale SCITT and Castle Hill School. While these partners are not accredited to award Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), they play a crucial role in delivering high-quality training and support throughout our programmes. Through this partnership, trainees benefit from diverse teaching experiences, expert mentoring, and access to a broad network of schools and professionals. Our collaboration ensures a rich, well-rounded training experience that prepares you for success in the classroom, with Huddersfield Horizon SCITT awarding the QTS upon successful completion.

Our School Partnerships and Training Opportunities

Huddersfield Horizon SCITT is proud to be part of the South Pennine Multi Academy Trust, a thriving network of eight primary and two secondary schools across Calderdale, Kirklees, and Oldham.

In response to the growing demand for high-quality teacher training, we have established strong partnerships with schools both within and beyond the Trust.
